Hi, I’m Rita, the photographer behind Rita Marie Studios. I'm an Austin-based fine art pet photographer specializing in wall art for devoted dog families. My work has been published in the book Tails of the Hill Country, recognized with multiple IPPA Bronze Distinction and IPPA Bronze (International Pet Photography Awards), and I was a 2025 Crufts Licensed Photographer.

But none of that is why I do this work. I do this because dogs are family. And we deserve to honor the bond and love we have with our dogs with fine art of them. I know what it means to have a dog who has carried you through the hardest seasons of your life. A dog that has been there for the biggest joys of your life. A dog who has given you some of your greatest love in life. And I create portraits worthy of that love.

When I'm not behind the camera, I'm competing in dog sports with my dogs in disc, barn hunt, dock diving, herding, scent work, FastCAT, and more. My dogs and I love spending time hiking and camping, especially in Texas State Parks. My senior Mixed Breed (I call her a “Limited Edition") Boo, and my Border Collie Vida are Therapy Dog Teams, volunteering weekly with Divine Canines in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and the general Austin community. My puppy Pickett is a Stabyhoun, a rare breed that is trying to be preserved from extinction. My dogs aren't a prop for my business. They're the reason for it.
